To the North

Approximately 8 miles northwards is the county town of Dorchester with its Thomas Hardy connections, Roman history and museums.

Further on lies the famous Cerne Giant, in the pretty village of Cerne Abbas and the Abbey and Castle at Sherborne. Shaftesbury also makes claim to fame, at Gold Hill, where the Hovis advertisement was filmed.

Moving towards the North East, Milton Abbey and Bulbarrow Hill are very pleasant spots and the smaller towns of Blandford and Wimborne have much to offer.
